The guy behind this blog

Just a regular dad trying to build something real on the side.

I’m not a guru. I’m not a millionaire blogger. I’m a dad with a full-time job, a family, and the same 24 hours everyone else has — trying to figure out if it’s actually possible to build meaningful income online without sacrificing the things that matter most.

The honest backstory

A while back, I sat down one evening after the kids were in bed and did the math on our finances. Nothing catastrophic — just the quiet realization that one income, a mortgage, and the future all happening at once is a tighter equation than I’d been pretending it was.

That was the night I started googling “how to make money online.” And like most people who go down that rabbit hole, I found a lot of noise, a lot of hype, and very few honest accounts of what it actually looks like to try.

So I started this blog to be that honest account.

What this blog is

Lazy Dad Life is a real-time record of one dad’s attempt to build income online — through blogging, side hustles, AI tools, and whatever else seems worth trying.

I publish real income reports. When I make $0, I’ll say $0. When something works, I’ll show you exactly how and what it paid.

I write about real failures. I’ve already deleted 100 blog posts and started over. That’s not a metaphor — I’ll tell you the whole story.

I document real experiments. Different income streams, different strategies, different tools — tested with limited time and reported honestly.

What this blog is not

This is not a “make $10,000 a month blogging” blog. I don’t have results like that — yet, anyway — and I wouldn’t write about it if I didn’t.

This is not advice from someone who already figured it all out. I’m figuring it out right now, in public, which is either brave or foolish — probably both.

Who it’s for

If you’re a parent with a full-time job who wants to build something on the side but doesn’t know where to start — this is for you. If you’re tired of highlight reels and want to see what the messy middle actually looks like — this is for you.

We’re building this from zero. Come follow along.

Start with my story

Read the post where I explain why I deleted everything and started over. It’s the most honest thing I’ve written.
